Compete Hockey is excited to announce they will be running their annual High Performance Camp for the 5th consecutive year. This year’s camp will be officially promoted by the Alaska Jr Avalanche, Mat-Su Valley, Pioneer Hockey and Eagle River Hockey Associations. The camp will be run be Compete Hockey founder and professional skills coach and previous NHL player Cam Severson, as well as previous USHL, NAHL coach Neil Breen and previous NCAA and USA National Female Team player Lindsay Macy. This year’s camp will also have on ice coaches from each one of the above mentioned local associations working in conjunction with the Compete staff to offer players a great overall week of development.     



Group 1   Mites, Squirts (Males and Females)

Group 2   Peewee (Males and Females)

Group 3   Bantams (Males and Females)

Group 4 U16 Midgets (Males and Females)

Group 5 U18 Midgets, Junior, College (Males and Females)


Group Numbers: 26 Players and 4 Goalies per Group 





Each group will have 2 group leaders that will be in charge of check-in and check-out of each daily activity.

Camp Curriculum

On Ice Instruction:

Ice Session 1 – This session will focus on all aspects of making players better overall skaters, players will improve their edge control, balance and agility, acceleration, transition and overall conditioning. 

Ice Session 2 – This session will be focused on evasive puck control maneuvers, quick shot release techniques, puck protection and battle drills, and passing execution. 

There will also be an extensive preparation program of checking instruction that teaches kids how to make a check and also take a check to promote player confidence and injury prevention. (Age Specific)   

Classroom Instruction: Various aspects of hockey pertaining to mental preparation, team building and goal setting. There will also be an entire class room on injury prevention and stretching.   

Dryland Training:

Dryland 1 - Structured “Hockey Specific” workout run by a certified dryland coach.  All workouts will be age specific and focus on quickness, balance, overall strength and conditioning.


Dryland 2 – Structured crossover sports that include, Lacrosse, European Handball, Soccer, Compete Dodge Ball Challenge. 


Safety: This camp is an all- day camp where parents will drop their kids off in the morning and pick them up in the late afternoon. We stress the importance of supervision and will have 2 group leaders for each group that will be checking in and out players at each activity throughout the day. 




Please Bring the Following to Camp:

• Complete set of hockey equipment and sticks.

         *Equipment may be left overnight in a locked dressing room. Compete Hockey is not responsible for any lost or stolen property. Hockey equipment is not provided by Compete Hockey.

• Daily snack and water bottle • Gym Attire with workout shoes • Shower towel • Lacrosse stick and Gloves (optional)

         *Lacrosse sticks will be provided and kids will use their own hockey gloves, helmet, shoulder and elbow pads.
